From the initial brief, NBC UNIVERSAL GLOBAL NETWORKS ASIA PACIFIC (Sci-Fi Channel) approach us in 2008 to art direct a Sci-fi Channel Promos & Idents. The promo was the first one needed to be on air. A permanent fixture for weekend Sci-fi Movies promo for 2009. The promo inspiration came from the following lines of what if our eyes can see what our eyes not seeing. A idea that applicable to the brand message of the promo.

Evidently few changes was made accordance to its branding requirement from the cable network.


Technical Info :
The post work started after the sign off on the final agreed art direction (Styleframe board). We were given 2.5 week for production time for this 30 sec video.
★ The base work includes a lot of library video footages (ink) and generated particle plugin in AE composited as background animation. The royalty free 2D image of the eye (Getty Images) was digitally modified and part matte painted in Photoshop. It was then edited in different shape of puzzle in frames before animating it using a morph plugin for AE. Few different test was made to get the right flow of the animation. All 3D assets was created in Max. These are; the crystal blocks ,3d text and the iris of the eye. Particle flow was used to create the disintergration of the 3D text. All final compositing assets is composited in layers and colour graded accordingly to Sci-fi Channel branding colours.
